I bought the egg poacher without reading the reviews. When I read the August review about the bad odor being omitted while cooking the eggs, I was afraid this was the reason for the great price on the egg poacher. The person also said egg cups were small. When my egg poacher arrived, the first thing I did was try it out. No smell came from the poacher while cooking and there was no bad taste in the cooked egg. Second, the cup holders looked smaller. They aren't! The cups are deeper in depth, but smaller around. They held a size large egg with "room to spare". Actually, I liked the cooked smaller looking egg better. I wondered if the August review writer could have inserted the rubber piece incorrectly in the lid. It goes under the knob next to the lid. The screw is then attached under the lid. I love my new egg poacher!
